Stonington Public Schools
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the Stonington Public Schools 2012 Summer Learning webpage.
Reading over the summer months is not only a great way to keep one’s mind stimulated and open to learning but can be a great source of adventure. Below are links to the district-wide SUMMER READING recommendations by grade levels.
You will find the books listed by title and author. In some, cases series are indicated.
The joint lists are the result of collaboration between our school librarians, teachers, students, the Stonington Free Library and the Mystic and Noank Library. The vast majority of these titles are available at the Stonington Free Library as well as the Mystic and Noank Library.
Remember these are just suggested lists – please investigate additional titles by these authors, by topic and/or genre.
Summer learning packets containing reading activities and journals as well as math activities for grades 1-4 as well as reading assignments for grades 5-8 are linked below. In some cases summer reading assignments may be sent home with you at the end of this school year.
Carefully follow the instructions given to you by your teacher.
Have a safe summer. Read! Read! Read!
