The Den: SPS Staff Childcare

Mission:

The Den is a high-quality childcare program for the children of SPS staff members. The Den promotes a positive learning environment to aide in the development of each individual child and their needs. A daily schedule will be followed to provide a consistent routine for children and will allow time for a variety of structured and independent activities that encourage learning through play, exploring, and investigating. The Den staff will utilize Connecticut’s Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and Documentation and Observation for Teachers System (DOTS) assessment tools to create developmentally appropriate lessons that promote school readiness in a fun and engaging way to help each child develop a love of learning early on. Communication between home and school is valued and will be an important part of the program.
