Welcome letter from the Principal

Dear Stonington High School Students and Families,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we would like to welcome our students and families to the 2024-2025 school year!! We hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer! Much planning and hard work have gone into preparing for a successful school year.

For those new to the district, my name is Ms. Dawe and I am thrilled to welcome you to Stonington High School. We are looking forward to meeting new faces, revisiting familiar ones, as well as hearing all about your summer adventures. We are very excited to work together to make this a fabulous new school year!

Additionally, I would like to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to our custodial and maintenance staff. They worked diligently throughout the summer to clean and ready our schools. Many structural and technological facility updates took place and continue to happen as we speak!

All teachers and support staff have spent hours preparing materials, reviewing data and preparing classrooms. Administrative Assistants and office staff have registered new students, put together information packets to be sent home with all students, and organized new materials.

Please be sure to check Stonington Public School’s website for notices and updates. There you will also find the links to not only the high school but for many other resources you may need. Looking ahead to this year, we have been very busy developing plans and resources to be ready for the return of students this fall.

As with last year, much of the first week of school will be spent acclimating to the protocols in the high school and resetting classroom norms. Rest assured we will be ready to support all of our students on day one.

As excited as I am to offer this letter, it is the face-to-face interaction that I value most. Please know that I have an open door policy, and welcome any opportunity to meet with you. We are looking forward to our collaboration in providing a safe and nurturing environment as well as a challenging and diverse curriculum.

We look forward to working with both students and parents in making the 2024-2025 school year a success!
